Well we are in full swing this month, and the next thing you know it will be time to prep for your Halloween party. I’m always looking for simple to make foods for the kids school parties. Don’t you love simple to make foods too? Something without nuts, and something that makes alot… well enough for 25 kids. We made some super simple, but tasty Halloween Trail Mix.
I hate to pack the kids up full of sugar, so I try to make our Halloween Trail Mix with a nice assortment of goodies, I’d like to say, something for everyone. Not all kids like the same foods, so I chose things I knew “most” kids enjoy and a few classics.
Here’s what you’ll need
Cheerios
Chex cereal
Mini Marshmallows
Reeses Pieces Candy
Candy Corn
You can add as much or as little of each, as you like. Usually I scoop about 2 cups of Cheerios and 2 Cups of Chex Cereal, then add the rest. I usually add more of the Cheerios and Chex Cereal to give the mix a nice base. The other ingredients are almost like a bonus treat, so I’d use about 1/2 a cup of each. But, again you can gauge how much you may need for your liking or party needs.
Mix up all your ingredients into a large bowl and start serving. You could add a handful into muffin tins like we did. This way it’s perfect for bite-sized appetites (for kids). Be creative, you can add your mix into small treat bags for your next party, into muffin cups, or even decorative Halloween goodie bags. Which ever way you decide to showcase your trail mix, it’s sure to be a big hit! This is a tasty treat for both kids and adults to enjoy.
If you wanted a larger batch for on-the-go and not for a party, just put your trail mix into a large ziploc bag and use when you’re out n about. I also do this! My kids love a little sweet and crunchy after soccer practice. So this trail mix is perfect, even if you’r not using it all for a party.
What kind of items do you normally add to your trail mix? I’d love to try out more ideas.
Thanks for stopping by Krafts and Kiddos today, I’m so glad you did! Stay tuned all week for more Halloween treats to share at your next party.
