4th of July Fruit Kabobs

Easy to make Fruit Kabobs

We love the 4th of July. Always such a festive holiday for so many reasons. It’s such a great day to show our patriotic side, give thanks for our country, and of course enjoy all the bbq’s, get togethers, and family fun that go hand-in-hand with this holiday.

My kids always love a donut for breakfast, well I guess who doesn’t right?! Unfortunately I can’t give them one all the time, but I will make a fruit kabob that includes a donut or two. This way they get some fruit mixed in with their favorite breakfast food.

We made these simple 4th of July Fruit Kabobs

Ingredients:

Here’s what you’ll need to make these super simple but tasty fruit kabobs

Blueberries

Strawberries

White Donuts

Donut Holes

Marshmallows

To make these kabobs I just put my fruit and donuts rotating to make red, white, and blue in a row.

These 4th of July Fruit Kabobs are so tasty and I don’t feel so guilty letting the kids enjoy them because of course there is fruit involved too!

If you’re still looking for a festive snack for you and the kids this fourth of July, try making this 4th of July Trail Mix. It’s easy to make + it’s the perfect blend of sweet n salty. We love eating the trail mix while watching the fireworks. It’s a great little snack for picnics, bbq’s, or just a festive treat for the kids to enjoy (well…. adults too), because of course I eat it too.

I hope you enjoy your 4th of July this year. Let me know what you think of your kabobs or trail mix if you make some.

Happy 4th of July from me and my kiddos.

These kabobs are so easy to make you can add or take off what you like too. I don’t really care for marshmallows, but I do like donuts so you can swap, but still get the fruits too.

Thanks Charlee! I know what you mean, my kids bounce off the walls with donuts, but at least this has fruit added in and just bite sized donuts - they are so easy to make, enjoy and Happy 4th too!

Hi Leslie, those donuts I know it’s tempting.. luckily they are the bite sized ones and it’s mixed with fruit, so at least we get some “grow” food in there. Thanks for stopping by to say hello, I hope you’re enjoying summer so far.

Thanks Amberjane for stopping by. I do admit I love festive colored foods. But I suppose you could still make something similar where you live in your colors? A fun play on foods.

These kabobs are fun because you can add your childs favorite colored fruits + a donut to give a little festive sweetness. I forget where I got my wooden skewers, I think on amazon. They probably have a good selection made for kids too. Have fun! Let me know how they come out.

Hello! I did the kabobs with the donuts! I had one nasty remark from a *mean* cousin saying, “you guys don’t like bananas??” Um, what fun is that??? I got lots of feedback from my awesome sauce friends saying that they loved the donut idea and I was like, “there! Take that mean cousin!!” I mean, the rest of the kabob WAS ALL FRUIT! Then we made watermelon jello to boot!! I loved it, thank you!!

Yay Kristina, will be so fun! Have you guys camped out back before? My kids totally enjoyed it. We made it all night out there, which shocked me. I did have our dog sleep in the tent too ;) Happy 4th!

This is a cute idea! It would be a good way to compromise. Ya know, kids think they can live on donuts and marshmallows, but with this idea, Mom is happy with the addition of fruit. Everyone wins ;)

I totally agree Jill - I feel better about giving the kids the sugars when it’s attached to some fruits, right?! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a great weekend!
