Let’s Get Silly, Faces that Is
Yesterday I shared a post on how to make Tissue Paper Flower Pots. We loved the way they came out. But, I still had lots of clay pots sitting around the house, I kept thinking what we could create with those. Then, I looked over at my kiddos being silly, as usual, and realized let’s get our silly faces painted - well on the flower pots at least.
Here’s what you’ll need to create your silly face flower pots.
Small terra cotta pots
A Pencil
Acrylic Paints
Paintbrushes
After you’ve painted your flower pots you might want to add:
Soil and Seeds or a small spiky plant (for hair)
Painted Clay Flower Pots
Using a pencil, outline the face. Make it as silly as you want. As you can tell I’m not the best artist, so the sillier the better on this one was perfect for us. Then begin painting over your outline. Start by outlining the facial features with your black paint. Let dry at least 10 minutes.
Continue painting the insides of the facial features with bright colors. If you decide to add a plant to your flower pot, the brighter the color is better, this will really show the contrast. Then let dry completely.
Once you’re all done you can add soil and seeds and watch your plant grow. Which would be great fun for the kids to watch because it’s like the flower pot has grown “hair”. Another option, just buy a small spiky plant and place inside your pot. Either way this silly flower clay pot will be a big hit with the kids and adults alike!
I hope we made you smile today. Sometimes it just feels good to let the sillies out, as my kids would say. This fun and silly craft is the perfect idea for those days when you could just use a smile + some extra fun.

These are adorable and they would make great gifts!

Thanks, Heather. But I can;t take credit for the WineCraft post. That was my website partner, Sarah.

Hahahaha - love the fun!!!!
Yes…. fun for sure! Especially once the seeds sprout and you have “hair”, even cuter.
These are just adorable. We have Grandkids Day once a year and this would be so cute to do as a self portrait. Pinned and shared
Oh I love your idea Tammy! I really like the self-portrait idea, grandkids would love this (me too!) Thanks for sharing and pinning.

Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by to say hello!
What a great idea! My daughter would love to do this with me
Oh and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and commenting; I tried responding but it says you’re a no reply blogger…if you google “how to fix no reply blogger” it’ll give you a quick and easy step on how to fix it. I used to be a no reply blogger and couldn’t figure out why nobody would respond to my comments I left on their blogs; come to find out, it wasn’t that they didn’t want to, it was because they couldn’t because of my settings. Anyways, just wanted to try and help.
Happy Friday!!

Hi Whitney, thanks so much for stopping by. I’m glad you like the Painted Pots. I’m sorry you got a no reply blogger message, I have my settings correct and usually receive comments back from others, so I’m unsure what’s the bugger on that one. I think computers have a mind of their own sometimes, right! lol. I’ll take a look and see, you never know sometimes
I hope you have a great weekend!!! SO glad it’s Friday.
