We love getting into the spirit of Halloween by decorating the house and of course the cool costumes, but another great way is enjoying movie night, and of course I love Halloween Movies for Kids.
I started thinking back to the years growing up, and what movies I absolutely loved watching leading up to the spooky day, and then I put together a great list to help you pick this Halloween. Plus, I added some of my kiddos favorite flicks. Depending on your little ones age, and scare factor here’s a great list to help you pick.
I included Halloween movies for kids that every ghoul and boy can enjoy watching.
Of course every child is different, and each parent knows them best, but I do hope our list helps you pick a great movie for your Halloween movie night.
Monsters, Inc.
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Hotel Transylvania
ParaNorman
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I love this movie because it reminds us to enjoy and appreciate all the regular ol’ days of the year. Reminds us to be thankful and love the holidays for many different reasons.
If you’re looking for movies for older kids.
The Goonies
This is one of my personal favorites. I just love The Goonies, it’s a classic in my eyes.
Hocus Pocus
Ghost Busters
Monster House
These are just a few of our favorite movies, perfect for Halloween. Depending on what your child’s scare factor happens to be, I hope these suit your list. I’m sure there’s one to be the perfect match for your movie night.
So, grab a bowl of popcorn, a cozy seat, and some friends and family for spooktacular movie night.
Halloween for kids can silly, spooky, and a little ghoulish, but as long as you pick a movie they enjoy, it’s all just good ol’ fun.
What’s your favorite Halloween movie? Do you have a favorite from the list?

Love Hocus Pocus! I did a similar round up a couple weeks ago, but for little kids! So much fun watching all these!!

Me too Ana, I love the Hocus Pocus movie. Aren’t Halloween movies the best!!! Thanks for stopping by.
I am not into any of the scary movies out there, so these are perfect for even a date night for us! I can’t wait until my girls are old enough to watch movies like these. Thanks for a great list, Heather!

Hi Charlee, you’re right these movies are perfect for just a date night without too much scare. I don’t like the creepy scary kind of Halloween movies either. You guys dressing up this year?
Only the girls. I want them to be little scarecrows, but I still have to go to the thrift store and find the stuff! I would love to dress up as a family, but it’s too much work for me right now. What about your family?
Oh that will be cute costumes, little scarecrows, too cute! We have a Hulk and a Cat for the kids this year. I don’t dress up either, I can’t seem to find the time to dig up a costume or put one together, lol.

Great list! The only one I would add is Beetlejuice. I haven’t watched Hocus Pocus in years…will have to do so now. I wonder if my kids will enjoy it? I can’t even remember if it is scary or not.

Thanks Kim, glad you like our list. I love Beetlejuice too!!! That was one of my fav’s as a kid too! My kids are close to 5 and 7 and these movies, they haven’t watched Hocus Pocus yet, but we will be watching it this weekend. Have fun!
These are some wonderful movies for the season. Last night we saw our local community theatre group do a production of The Addams Family,

It was a fun musical, and I thought of the old movies and TV show for the Halloween season. There are so many funny characters and of course its always fun when the family loves all the gross things that most families despise.

How fun, the Addams Family was always a favorite of mine, so to see a live theatre group would be great! This time of year is so fun with all the great projects, movies, and foods too! Thanks for stopping by this weekend, I’m so glad you did!
I love this kid friendly Halloween list. One of my personal favorites is Hocus Pocus. My daughter loves all things scary, but I haven’t decided if she is old enough to watch it this year. We will have to try out Charlie Brown, that looks like a safe bet and we haven’t seen it yet.

Thanks Katie, I know what you mean, if they are old enough or not. If it’s not a cartoon type of movie, I sometimes I’m unsure too. But, Hocus Pocus is a silly one for the kiddos. Our favorite is Hotel Transylvania, always a hit at home. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a great weekend!
