Homemade Santa Card

This month is so fun and full of exciting crafts and recipes, I’m absolutely loving it. Are you feeling the same way? With the holidays around the corner we always have a few cards to mail out to family. I decided to create Homemade Santa Cards the kids could make and then mail off to our family, who live a few hours away.

We love all things Santa, so why not create a bright and cheery card, sure to make anyone smile. You can write a message inside the card that’s especially written from the kids. This would be a great craft for a classroom too. Parents could receive their card during your winter party. Now, that’s the holiday spirit, if you ask me.

Are you ready to create your card, then let me show you how

First, you’ll need a few basic supplies to create your homemade santa card.

Supplies:

Here’s what you’ll need…..

Red Construction Paper (8×11)

Black Construction Paper

Pencil

Glue Stick or Glue

Scissors

Gold Glitter Glue

Cotton Balls

Instructions:

Start by folding the red paper in half, to create your card.

Using your scissors, cut a black strip the same width as the card

Using a glue-stick, apply the black strip across the center of your card (this will be santa’s belt)

Take a pencil and draw a square outline in the center of the black strip. You are now ready to fill in your outline with gold glitter glue. Use your glitter glue pen and fill in your belt buckle.

Grab a handful of cotton balls - pull them apart. Now, dab a cotton ball in glue and press them vertically onto your card. Glue cotton balls above and below Santa’s belt. We glued 2 cotton balls per row.

The inside can be decorated with your child’s name or have them print a fun letter or draw a picture. No matter what you and your child decide to write or draw inside the santa card, it’s sure to be a bit hit this holiday season.
