Popcorn is always a big hit at our house, so last week I decided why not let the kids enjoy some popcorn while making a craft. Two things go hand in hand, seemed like the ideal craft plus snack time all in one. We made Easter Lambs made out of popcorn and paper plates. The hardest part was leaving enough popcorn to fill in our project. Luckily, we made it (barely). Next time I may pop an extra bag.
Supplies:
At least 1 bag of Popcorn
Bowl
White Paper Plate
Glue
Black Construction Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Tape
Googly Eyes
Instructions:
Pop your popcorn (I used microwaveable), let stand for at least 3 minutes. Start on the following steps while popcorn cools.
On black construction paper, help your child draw two rectangular legs and a rounded head, and stem for the neck.
Cut these pieces out and glue or tape to the back of your paper plate.
Have your child place 1 googly eye onto the head.
Now you can place glue all over the front of the paper plate, spread it evenly. Next have your child add popcorn to cover the entire front of the paper plate.
Once you are done turn the lamb over to see what popcorn pieces fall off, if that happens just add a little glue and place them back on or eat them… either way, this makes for a fun craft + snack.

I love it! We are making it! I wonder if our popcorn will make it onto the sheep. That will be the true test. (My four year old is definitely going to need an extra bag.)

It’s funny, we struggled with the same thing!! I was lazy, and popped 1 bag in the microwave and we barely finished two lambs. Who can resist popcorn right?! Have fun making these, we sure enjoyed this simple but yummy craft.
